FADING ECHOS
Many of us are familiar with the Greek myth of Narcissus, the beautiful young man who fell in love with his own reflection whilst out hunting in the forest. Lesser known is the tragic fate of Echo, the nymph who fell for him at first sight. Infatuated by his own image, Narcissus rejected Echo’s advances again and again. In despair, she roamed the woods for the rest of her life, and faded away until all that remained was an echo of her former self.
Against the backdrop of an increasingly narcissistic society, the series explores the emotional and psychological experience of loving a narcissistic.
All photos have been shot in camera, using only water reflections. No post-production manipulation has been used to create the effects.
The project is currently in proof of concept phase and we are looking for other survivors of narcissistic abuse to be part of the series. If you are interested in participating, please contact us
